Frequently Asked Questions

When are you open?

The Farm & Orchard is open WEEKENDS ~ September 6th – October 26th, September 25th and 26th for Rosh Hashanah and October 14th for Columbus Day, 9am to 6pm.

The Spooky Moonlight Maze is open Fridays & Saturday nights October 10th-25th AND open October 12th from 7pm-10pm (weather permitting, please check our website for updates).

Do you have apple picking?

Yes. Harbes Farm & Orchard in Riverhead has a 5-acre apple orchard that has apple picking and pumpkin picking.

Do I need to bring a flashlight for the Night Maze?

Yes, you must have a flashlight to go through our Spooky Maze.  We recommend you bring one from home, and if you should forget to bring one, you can purchase one when you arrive. We also have fun glow products available for purchase.

How much does it cost?

Apple Picking - Admission to orchard is $8 per person and includes a bag to fill up with apples (holds approximately 3-4 lbs of apples)  and a ride on our apple express to the best apple picking.

SpookyMaze - $13.95 general admission

Can I bring my pet(s)?

No.  For safety of all of our guests and for hygienic reasons, we ask that you leave your pets at home.  Exceptions are made for assistance dogs.  Please note- there is not reliable shade in the parking lots for your dog to stay in your vehicle.

Can I bring my own food/wine for a picnic?

No.  We strive to create a park-like country atmosphere for you and your family to enjoy, however we are not a park- we are a family owned and operated business.  Our Concession area offers a offers a full range of items to enjoy for lunch or dinner, as well as many tasty treats. Our wine tasting gazebo has a selection of quality, award-winning wines for you to enjoy on or off our premises.

Is there anything for my young child/teenager to do on the farm?

Yes! Relaxing outdoor games & areas provide a setting for all to enjoy the simple beauty of nature.  The Country Concession has roasted corn and other tasty treats to appeal to even the pickiest eaters in your group!  :)

Are your pumpkins grown in the field, do we get to pick them ‘off the vine’?

Yes!  Our pumpkins are grown on premises – early in the pumpkin-picking season (late Sept – early Oct) you might actually be pulling/twisting the pumpkins off the vine (or you could bring a pair of pliers to help).  The vine naturally ‘dies’ and falls off the pumpkin late in the season.

When it rains does it get muddy?

Most surfaces here are dirt. Some walking areas are gravel, but nothing is paved. Any time water mixes with dirt you will have mud. Depending how long and how hard it has rained determines how muddy conditions are here at the farm. Come dressed accordingly if the weather has been wet. If severe, some activities (Hayride, Mini-Train, and/ or Mazes) may be cancelled due to muddy conditions.
